What is a Medical Device style triage?
Based on a patient's responses, a triage solution accredited as a medical device can make a recommendation - for example, that based on data inputted, a patient should seek urgent medical attention at A&E, or that a specific submission should be treated as 'high priority'. Technically speaking, triage solutions accredited as Medical Devices are able to assign specific clinical dispositions to a patient submission.
Why is Hero not a Medical Device?
Hero's solution does not aim to do this. Hero's Care Navigation aims solely to capture information from a patient or proxy, for a clinician to review and assess. Hero does not automatically assign priority based on different types of data input or different disposition.
