Creating billing categories

In this guide we will look at how to create billing categories and how they can be applied to chargeable items.

Step 1: Sign into Hero

Sign into your Hero account using the admin sign in link: https://herohealth.net/admins/sign-in

Step 2: Open the billing category menu

Once you have signed into your account, go to setting on the left hand side; then open the Invoicing & payment and click on Billing categories. This will open the billing category menu showing you all you existing billing categories.

Step 3: Create and edit a billing category

To create a new billing category click the Add button in the top left of the page and enter the name of the new category. To change the name of an existing category, go to Options>Edit and edit the name of the billing category.

Step 4: Assign a billing category to a chargeable item

Once you have created your billing categories you can assign these to specific chargeable item. This will mean any invoices raised for that service type will be assigned the chosen billing category.

To add a billing category to an appointment go back to Settings and open Services & chargeable items then select Chargeable items, this will open your product catalogue. To edit a specific item select Options>Edit, you can assign the billing category in the Billing category drop down.
