Are you using eConsult's Smart Inbox? Learn how to send self-booking appointment links in response to patient submissions.

Updated over a week ago

How does the Hero-eConsult Smart Inbox self-booking links integration work?

For submissions that require a face-to-face or telephone follow-up, practices can now use the Hero Health self-booking integration to invite patients to book an appointment slot.

To add an appointment booking link when responding to a patient, select the calendar icon above the response field:

The practice staff member responding to the submission can select an appropriate appointment type, location and practitioner to offer the patient.

Once the link is received by the patient, they confirm their identity with their date of birth, before selecting a slot which is booked directly into the EMIS or Systm1 appointment diary.

How do I setup the integration?

To activate self-booking links, you'll need to be using eConsult's Smart Inbox and setup with Hero. Once you're live with both solutions, the appointment links can be activated by completing this registration form.

The functionality will be activated on the back-end by our teams, and you'll be able to start sending appointment booking links within 24 hours.

How do I add additional locations, practitioners and slot types?

The slot types, locations and practitioners shown within the Smart Inbox are retrieved from within your EMIS or Systm1 instance. These first need to be made available within Hero. To to this, sign into Hero, go to the EMIS/Systm1 integration page, and then add the slot types, locations and practitioners you require.
