Learn how to create new patient record and how to set required registration fields for your patient records

In this article we will cover how to create a new patient record in Hero is you are not connected to EMIS, SystmOne or PDS. By creating a patient record in Hero you'll be able to use Hero's functionality to message the patient, book them an appointment or raise an invoice for them.

How to create a patient record if you are non connected to EMIS, SystmOne or PDS?

  1. To create a patient record in Hero you will first need to navigate to the πŸ‘₯ Patients table using the menu on the left side of the page.

  2. Once you are on the πŸ‘₯ Patients table you can create a new patient record using the + Add button in the top right corner of the page.

  3. Then enter the patient's last name, date of birth and sex, then click Next.

  4. Once you have enter the basic patient details you can enter the additional information to complete the patient record.

  5. After you have entered all the required information you can click Save to create the patient record or click Save and book to create the record and book an appointment for the new patient.

Can I control what is required to create a patient?

You can define the mandatory field required to create a new patient record.

  1. Navigate to the βš™οΈ Settings and open the Patient registration menu.

  2. Click on Registration fields to manage the required information to create a new patient record.

  3. On this page you can control whether a specific data field is required, optional or not include

If you update these fields it will also update the required information for patient to create a patient record via the online booking flow.
