Getting started with Hero’s SystmOne integration

Hero integrates directly with SystmOne to make it easier for your practice to manage bookings, messages, and patient records in one place.

Updated this week

This series of articles will walk you through getting connected, setting up your booking configuration, and understanding how Hero works with patient records in SystmOne.

What the integration enables

With SystmOne connected to Hero, you can:

  • Book, cancel, and reschedule appointments directly into SystmOne.

  • Save messages, attachments, and questionnaires to patient records in SystmOne.

  • Run campaigns and communications with full record keeping.

How the connection works

The integration is powered by Hero Sidekick - a lightweight app installed on one of your practice PCs that also runs SystmOne.

  • Sidekick authenticates your Hero account with SystmOne.

  • Once connected, Hero can read and write information securely into your clinical system.

  • You’ll see a connection indicator inside Hero confirming when SystmOne is active.

What’s next

To get started, follow our step-by-step guides:

  1. Setting up Hero Sidekick – installing and connecting your practice.

  2. Booking configuration – mapping your locations, practitioners, and slot types.

  3. Unregistered patient flow – how Hero handles patients who aren’t yet in your SystmOne records.
