Part 1: Create a new user in EMIS

This article will guide you through creating a new user in EMIS.

Step 1: Sign into EMIS

Start by signing into your EMIS account, you must make sure you have practice manager access to complete the following steps.

Step 2: Open the Organisation Configuration tab

Once you have signed into EMIS, go to the top left of the screen and click on the EMIS bubble, from the drop-down click Configuration. In the ribbon along the top of the screen click the icon Organisation Configuration.

Step 3: Add new user

Next, go to +Add and select add new user in the ribbon.

Step 4: Add user information
Now that the new user window has opened you can add the following user details:

  • Title: Mr

  • First name: Hero

  • Last name: User

  • Gender: Unknown

  • Username: Herouser

  • Password: {Choose a secure password}

  • Please untick "user must change password on next sign in "

Step 5: Set a role

Now open the role tab on the left-hand side and select the following fields:

  • Job Category: Manager

  • User Mnemonic: HH or other

  • Authorise Prescriptions: None

  • Relationship: Associated

  • Contract start date: Today's date

  • Contract end date: Do not set one *IMPORTANT*

Step 6: Add user roles

Now open the User Role Profile menu on the left-hand side and set the RBAC role to Practice Manager SJR004 *IMPORTANT*

Once you have set the user roles, click OK, you are now ready to set up the API connection.
