Patient connections

Connections in Hero Health allow you to connect patients together and manage their appointments, reminders, and billing. In this article, we'll show you how to create a connection, add a billpayer, and add an insurer to a patient's account.

To create or manage a connection, please follow the steps below:

Step 1: Find the patient

  • Use the search box at the top of the page to find the patient you want to create a connection for.

  • Click on the patient's name to access their details.

Step 2: Access the Connections tab

  • Once you are on the patient's account, click on the Connections tab.

  • You will see three sections: Billpayers, Patients, and Insurers.

Step 3: Add a connection

  • In the Patients section, click the Add button to the right.

  • Confirm the connection type and search for another patient in Hero Health to connect to.

  • Once you have selected the patient, press save.

Step 4: Add a billpayer

  • In the Billpayers section, click the Add button to the right.

  • Search for another patient in Hero Health to connect to.

  • You will also have the option to make this new connection the default billpayer.

  • Once you have selected the patient, press save.

Note: A patient can have multiple connections, but only one default billpayer.

Step 5: Add an insurer

  • In the Insurers section, click the Add insurer button.

  • Choose from the list of available insurers and enter the policyholder's details.

Note: If you can't find the insurer you need, contact Hero Health support for assistance.
